 以《返家十万里》扬名的导演卡罗尔·巴拉德一鸣惊人之作。以戏剧化的抒情风格描述一名男孩在船难中跟黑神驹同时漂流到荒岛上，人与马建立了两位一体的非凡感情。后来他们获救重回人类社会，巧遇老牌马术教练，乃被训练成出色的赛马和小小年纪的骑师，在一次比赛中获得冠军。全片的摄影极为优美动人，尤其当时的童星凯利·里诺在沙滩上跟黑神驹玩耍的场面，在视听效果上呈现出大自然之美的极至。米基·鲁尼饰演的驯马师在片中也占有重要地位，一老一少和马之间的三角互动关系爆发出感人的火花，堪称同类影片中的一流代表作。

大二在读的安小河，因高利贷等事遭到“追杀”，30岁画家康梅梅因接到“病危”通知，两人先后“逃”回到恒河边的家乡，与在村里梦想有一天能在河里找到传说中金碗的农民康大恒在争吵和交往中，安小河对康梅梅产生了不一样的情愫，父女多年的隔阂也冰释前嫌。

Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
