大鸿米店
五龙（陶泽如饰）逃荒进城凭着一身蛮力做了大鸿米店的伙计，食量惊人的他惹来了米店冯老板和大女儿绮云（杨昆饰）的百般刁难，而自小便作了六爷姘妇的小女儿织云（石兰饰）却见他总是笑逐颜开，白天到处受人欺负的五龙只有晚上躺在米仓里大口大口的嚼生米时才能感觉到踏实。偶然一次机会，让五龙发现织云和六爷的手下阿保在一起鬼混，为了报复阿保平日里对自己的欺辱，五龙偷偷向六爷告发，后来阿保就被人给捅了。初尝报复带来的快感让五龙兴奋的彻夜无眠，而生性风流的织云对他的百般勾引又令他完全迷失。从此，五龙便开始对身边欺负自己的一个个城里人疯狂的报复…… 本片由著名作家苏童的小说《米》改编，于1995年摄制完成后因被认为宣扬人性恶论而被称为灰色电影，雪藏七年后才得以解禁海外影视

好像一切都很糟糕

Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
